Memphis Elite- Daniels 44 Memphis Elite- Holmes 40

It took overtime to settle this AAU Substate game!
As anticipated.....the battle with a very cohesive and talented group of players and coaches ( Elite- Holmes) wasn't going to be easy. If we didn't won't our (Elite- Daniels) name to go along side all the other older teams that have be beaten by them. The Daniels team made up of almost entirely new personnel, came out struggling and Holmes team wasn't exactly setting things on fire either. But because of the young talented group of players history of playing together for a number of years, Holmes team got things going sooner than the Daniels bunch. The Holmes team built a lead by as much as 17 pts. The Daniels group mounted a come by upon the 3rd qtr arrival of Kelsey Briggs. The gap was closed based on the defensive efforts of Jasmine Joyner, Aliyah Miller and Kelsey Briggs. Offense was a premium tonight, but Odequa Ogibokie stood head and shoulders above everyone. Her 14 pts was a big reason why Elite- Daniels pulled out the victory, along with Brianna Mitchell's 17 pts.
But hats off, to one the best teams around the Mid-South area (regardless of age) MEMPHIS ELITE-HOLMES!
Daniels- Elite scoring was as follow:
Brianna Mitchell- 17pts
Odequa Ogibokie- 14pts
Aliyah Miller- 4pts
Kelsey Briggs- 3pts
Jasmine Joyner- 2pts
Elexa Guy- 2pts
Teresa Mays- 0pts
Tiara Caldwell- 0pts
Taylor Barnes- 0pts
Madison Luckett, Ayanna Muhammad and Kiki Patterson did not play.

Next up for both teams is 2nd game in pool play
Holmes vs N. Miss Elite Blue- 9:30am @ St. Benedict
Daniels vs N. Miss Elite Blue- 2:00pm @ St. Ann (Bartlett)
